Non-Signalized Pedestrian Crossing

Where a pedestrian crossing route does not incorporate traffic signals, a traffic sign indicating “Yield to Pedestrians” should be provided adjacent to the vehicles’ stop line. Traffic calming measures such as speed bumps should also be considered to reduce the speed of approaching vehicles. It’s also important to provide line markings on the road surface to identify where vehicles should stop when the pedestrian crossing is being used.
